Press release

John Buckley Gallery is pleased to announce the first exhibition at the Albert Street space by Mark Galea. Since his debut in 1990, Galea has exhibited extensively both in Victoria and interstate. His work has been included in numerous group shows, notably "Decade", at the Bendigo Art Gallery, "This Was The Future...Australian Sculpture of the 1950s, 60s, 70s and Today", Museum of Modern Art at Heide and "The Spirit of Football", National Gallery of Victoria. He has also been chosen as a finalist in the Arthur Guy Memorial Painting Prize in 2003, 2005 and 2007.

Mark Galea's work has already found its way into important public, private and corporate collections, including the National Gallery of Victoria, Bendigo Art Gallery, the Price Waterhouse Coopers Collection, Melbourne, Monash University Museum of Art and the Monash Gallery of Art.
